Wally Edward Traugot b. Kitchener ON September 11, 1934 - December 3, 2010

Mastering Engineer Wally Traugott, who retired from Capitol Studios in 1996. Wally mastered some of the greatest albums of the 20th Century, which included, Georg Harrison’s All Things Must Pass, The Plastic Ono Band, RINGO, Band On The Run, The Beatles At Hollywood Bowl, as well as albums by Tony Bennett, Barbara Streisand, Willie Nelson...etc.

Not only that, but at one time he was the highest paid violinist in Canada ('50's'ish), being the fiddle player on The Tommy Hunter Show, and played with Tommy at Ryman Auditorium on The Grand Ole Opry. Eventually, Wally became disenchanted with the Canadian country music scene and relocated to California where he gave up his fiddle and went to work for Capitol Records

Gyorgy Ligeti b. Diciosânm?rtin, Hungary, 28 May 1923 – 12 June 2006 Vienna Austria)

This piece was written and first performed in 1961. This piece was used by Stanley Kubrick for the stargate segment of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Kubrick also used another Ligeti piece in the movie: "Lux Aeterna" which was used during the scene in the film where the apes wake up to the monolyth.

The 1968 album ‘Doughnut in Granny's Greenhouse’ was released as Urban Spaceman in the US and Canada by The Bonzo Dog Band. The phrase "the doughnut in granny's greenhouse" is obscure British slang for the lavatory.

Originally called The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, the Bonzos came to the public attention through a 1968 ITV comedy show, Do Not Adjust Your Set. The band was officially formed on 25 September 1962 after several members bonded after listening to the Sonny Liston / Floyd Patterson championship boxing match. Their hit song, I’m The Urban Spaceman, was co-produced by Gus Dudgeon and Paul McCartney.
