Band from Regina, Saskatchewan who eventually became Tomorrow’s Keepsake. They released a couple of 45s. They had a gimmick of wearing matching white suits and white hair. This is a 7 song EP album

The band existed between 1984-1999 who took their name from 'Revolution Rock' by The Clash. They had that Pogues-like Celtic rock feel expressed behind the fine vocals of band leader Mick Thomas. They covered Tex Mortons controversial 1930 song 'Sergeant Small' about the Queensland Railway Police, which had been banned soon after its original release in Australia. In the early 1990s they spent better part of a year in Canada, learning Stompin Tom and other Canadian songs for their live shows and did a great version of Sudbury Saturday Night.

This EP was released on Billy Bragg's Utility Records label, released by WEA. Their next record, Roaring Days, was their first major album release.

The Ducks were really the first local band we thought of as Stars. They got together in 1965 as a Rolling Stones attitude band with one of them in a Brian Jones haircut and the lead vocals approximating Mick Jagger. After releasing their first hit, “Nothin’”, they were one of many bands who got to open for the Stones at Maple Leaf Gardens before 15,000 fans.

She Ain’t No Use To Me was a good follow-up but it wasn’t until they released Gaslight in 1967 that they hit the number one spot in Canada. In 1968 Yorkville Records released the band's debut album, 'Somewhere Outside', and Mick Jagger proclaimed The Ugly Ducklings as "my favourite Canadian band". The trouble was, they had already disbanded.

6.   John Williams: Close Encounters of the Third Kind

7.  The Beatles: She Said She Said
(John Lennon / George Harrison)
Revolver: Capitol Records Canada ST-2576
Liverpool
John Lennon – lead and backing vocals, rhythm guitar, Hammond organ
George Harrison – backing vocal, bass guitar, lead guitar
Ringo Starr – drums, shaker
Produced by George Martin, 1966
Recorded at EMI Studios, London

Officially a Lennon & McCartney song written by John with a lot of help from George. A Song inspired by taking LSD with The Byrds but mainly known for the fact that only three Beatles performed on this track. For whatever reason (there is a lot of speculation out there about what that was), Paul walked out of the recording session for this, the last song recorded for Revolver, and George overdubbed the bass. Lennon remarked that The guitars are great on it. It was originally titled He Said, but John changed that when it was finally recorded.

8.   Billy Bragg: She’s Leaving Home

Lil' Ed Williams (born April 8, 1955, Chicago, Illinois)

Nephew of blues slide player JB Hutto. Guitar Player called the band "a snarling boogie-blues machine." Alligator Records offered them the chance to record a track, "Young Thing", for a compilation album, New Bluebloods (1987). However, producer and label owner Bruce Iglauer encouraged them to record additional material, and they cut a full album's worth of material at that single afternoon session, released as Roughhousin' in 1986. The Blues Imperials lasted until the early 90s when Lil’ Ed went solo, only to regroup again in 1999.

Albert’s band had released two singles for the Toronto-based Quality Records label in 1965-1966 before switching to Can-Am for two further releases.

Thanks to Sheppard’s efforts in New York, Bartholomew Plus Three got the opportunity to record some material for Atlantic Records with Cream’s producer Felix Pappalardi at the helm. A single coupling “When I Fall In Love” with “I Can’t Go Back” came out in November 1967 and even became a minor Canadian hit, peaking at #80.

Two years later, Laing would land the prestigious drum spot in Pappalardi’s new group Mountain as a direct result of these sessions and would compose that band’s hit “Mississippi Queen”.

Gary Harold Lee Levitch, July 31, 1946, Los Angeles son of Jerry Lewis.

In 1965, Gary Lewis was Cash Box magazine's "Male Vocalist of the Year", winning against nominees Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Gary Lewis confirms that "She's Just My Style" is the song of his that gets the most airplay today on radio. He told interviewer in 2013 that he sought to emulate the style of The Beach Boys with the recording.

"That's exactly what we were going for too. Even before we started writing it we said 'Let's go for The Beach Boys thing; a little rock and roll with a lot of harmony and I was really happy the way we pulled it off."

The recording also has the distinction of being the very first session that legendary studio drummer Jim Keltner played on.

While appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show, Gary screwed up while lip-synching this song. Gary was up front, on guitar, singing the vocals; when he thought the song was about to end cold, he stepped back, away from the microphone. However, the song had another bar to go and he had to rush back up to the mike to finish up.

This was the only single the original band put out. Afterwards, Slawson put together a new version of the band who signed to Mercury Records but didn’t accomplish very much. The band did a commercial for Macleans toothpaste in 1966 and it’s thought that Bloomfield played guitar for it. Bob Crewe, the group’s producer, produced their only hit single “(When She Needs Good Lovin’) She Comes to Me,” which made a crack at the Top 40 in 1966. Later singles failed to click and the band broke up soon afterwards. Keyboard player Barry Goldberg and guitarist Mike Bloomfield soon left to join Electric Flag.

He first started out playing in The Scottsville Squirrel Barkers, then The Hillmen before embarking (as a bass player) for The Byrds beginning in 1964. In 1953 Dave Somerville, while working as a sound engineer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Toronto, Canada, met three other guys one evening who liked to sing as much as he did. They decided to form a stand-up quartet called The Diamonds. The group's first performance was in the basement of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Toronto singing in a Christmas minstrel show. The audience's reaction to the Somerville-led group was so tremendous that they decided that night they would turn professional.

After 18 months of rehearsal, they drove to New York and tied for 1st Place on Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts. The prize of being guest artist for a week on Godfrey’s show led to a recording contract with Coral Records.  Biggest Hit: Little Darlin’ 1957
