Johnny & The Hurricanes began as the Orbits in Toledo, Ohio in 1957. Dave Yorko left school to join the Hurricanes at age 17. They toured the Midwest, around the United States and internationally, and appeared on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand several times. Yorko was among the first to leave the Hurricanes, claiming “He got tired of being on the road and wanted a normal life.”
The people credited with having written this song were actually Harry Balk and Irving Micahnik, the band’s managers. In 1962, they played at the Star-Club in Hamburg, where the Beatles, then a little-known band, served as an opening act.

After falling in love with recording technology after buying a cheap reel to reel tape recorder from a flee market, Daniel and his late brother Bob began buying equipment, taking it apart and putting it back together again, sometimes making a device sound more interesting. They purchased a couple of Revox tape machines and began experimenting. They eventually took over the basement of their mother’s house on Grant Avenue in Hamilton, offering their services to help pay for their addiction. Their first clients were folk music producers like Stan Rogers and David Essig but eventually expanded into rock and new wave music world. Today, hear some of the music that brought the Lanois’ world together before and after Brian Eno.

country classic “Ghost Riders In The Sky”. In November 2009, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Jim Morrison recorded his main vocals and then whispered the lyrics over them to create the echo effect.

Judy Garland began performing on the Vaudeville circuit with her two siblings as The Gumm Sisters but suffering jokes of their name they changed it to the Garland Sisters in 1934. Judy was selected in a 1935 audition with MGM for a screen test which eventually lead her to the lead role in The Wizard of Oz.

The core of the band originally formed in 1967 as Music Box but changed their name in 1969. Most people thought, because of the band’s subject matter for songs, that they were American. The Night Chicago Died sold over three million copies, and was awarded a gold disc by the R.I.A.A. in August 1974. The song is about a shoot-out between the Chicago Police and gangsters tied to Al Capone. It was inspired by the real-life Saint Valentine's Day Massacre.

On leaving the Army, Miller traveled to Nashville to begin his musical career. He met with Chet Atkins, who asked to hear him sing, loaning him a guitar since Miller did not own one. Out of nervousness, Miller played the guitar and sang a song in two different keys. Atkins advised him to come back later, when he had more experience. Miller found work as a bellhop at Nashville's Andrew Jackson Hotel, and he was soon known as the "singing bellhop." He was finally hired by Minnie Pearl to play the fiddle in her band. Miller signed a recording deal with Decca Records in 1958. After a few lean years he was dropped by Decca after gaining a reputation as a partyer called ‘The Wild Child’. Short of money, he signed with the up-and-coming label Smash Records and released ‘Chug-A-Lug’ and ‘Dang Me’ which were certified hits. His big time single, though, was the 1964 release of ‘King of the Road’ which hit number 1 on most music charts. "King of the Road" was performed live by Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Marty Stuart, Dwight Yoakam and Dolly Parton during Miller's posthumous induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame at the 1995 CMA Awards ceremony.

A C&W band with a rock n’ roll drummer. At a gig in 1966 at the Kitsalaino showboat, which is a stage on the beach fronted by a tidal swimming pool, not unlike the Beatles at the Hollywood bowl show, there were about 5000 people in attendance to witness Spade Nielson and the Gamblers who landed in the pool on a seaplane during the show." I don't know! Maybe it's my warped mind, but didn't that song sound a little big phallic? Like, sexual inuendo? A Pickle squirts! Maybe it's just me!

She only released two really good albums of her music and currently spends most of her energy painting abstract canvasses in really cool colours. This album – her second called ‘Sweet’, should have spurred her career along but didn’t. It’s a great album and I love this song, Everyday. Just great players were used and James Stephens (of Six Mile Bridge) has his fingerprints all over it – in a good way. Jennifer’s still involved with music but hasn’t submitted a third CD of original songs yet but I hear she’s working on it.

born April 8, 1955, Chicago, Illinois
Nephew of blues slide player JB Hutto. Guitar Player called the band "a snarling boogie-blues machine." Alligator Records offered them the chance to record a track, "Young Thing", for a compilation album, New Bluebloods (1987). However, producer and label owner Bruce Iglauer encouraged them to record additional material, and they cut a full album's worth of material at that single afternoon session, released as Roughhousin' in 1986. The Blues Imperials lasted until the early 90s when Lil’ Ed went solo, only to regroup again in 1999.
